Spain
Japan
Hampden Park, GlasgowJapan pulled off a remarkable victory against a very experienced Spanish team who looked sluggish and ill-prepared. Yoki Otsu put Japan into the lead in the 34th minute and then shortly before half-time, Spain's was sent off. In the second half Spain's close-passing game deserted them and Japan had most of the opportunities, finishing as deserved winners.
